Gallagher  Township was established on September 18, 1849 and was named for Judge Gallagher formerly of Pine Creek Township, who was instrumental in the township’s organization.

Gallagher Township is located in eastern Clinton County. It is bordered to the northeast by Lycoming County. The township encompasses a total area of 54 square miles, with Sproul State Forest occupying portions of the western side of the township.

Gallagher Township Board of Supervisors will hold its Regular Monthly Meeting on July 2 , 2025, at 7:00 pm. The meeting will take place at the Gallagher Township Municipal Building located at 11837 Coudersport Pike, Lock Haven PA 17745.
